Aunt Connie’s Christmas Cookies

·         1 lb. chopped pecans

·         1 lb. chopped dated

·         8 ounces chopped red and green candied cherries

·         3 c. flour

·         1 1/2 c. sugar

·         2 sticks butter

·         3 eggs

·         1 t. baking soda dissolved in 2 T. hot water

Mix together the fruit and nuts with 1 cup of the flour. Set aside.

Cream the sugar and butter and add the eggs, one at a time.

Stir in the soda and the remaining 2 cups flour.

Mix in the fruit mixture, mixing well.

Drop by teaspoons onto a well-greased baking sheet and bake at 350 f. for about 10 minutes or until browned around the edges.
