Grocery Store Demolished For New Businesses

( College Hill ) - A former grocery store is getting demolished to make way for a new business district in College Hill.

The old Kroger at the corner of Hamilton Avenue and North Bend Road is now gone, and the plan is to make it a new business district.

The City and the College Hill Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation (CHCURC) used funds from Focus52 to buy the property last year, and are now beginning the process of demolishing and cleaning the two acre site.

The City and CHCURC announced this morning that they are looking for experienced developers with an interest in the area. The new district is expected to be diverse, urban, and use a mix of environments.

CHCURC President Mike Cappel says he's hopeful that the new business district will be transformational for the neighborhood.
